Was there any doubt really that it would happen? “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” raked in $56.6 million this weekend to knock "Iron Man" down a peg or two. It also brought in $20.7 million overseas.
Caspian has done well but it still has a way to go to beat it's predecessor, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," which brought in $745 million worldwide during it's run in theaters.

Are we really ready for this?
Tom Cruise seemed to like Posh's acting enough to offer her a cameo on his Maybe even better for Mrs. Becks is the possibility that there may be a designing job on the movie and she may get to make some duds for the film. Her clothing designer dream is not dead yet, congrats.
Are you ready for more of Posh the actress? Seems she's just been wetting her appetite with 'Ugly Betty' and the video tribute to Tom Cruise on Oprah last week, now she's got her eyes on a bigger bit part.

Unidentified object attacks Sarah's head
Anyhoo, odd head-gear aside, the girls of Sex and the City looked great and not a day over 39 at their London premier. Maybe for SITC #2 they'll decide to actually pay homage to New York City by having the premiere there, it only seems right.
This pic looks photoshopped, it's not, although it would have been far better to have been doctored than to actually think someone would have wore this hat. It kind of scares me, it looks like something that would sit on my grandmother's knick knack shelf gathering dust.

Forrest Gump done serving his time
Michael Conner Humphreys played the young Forrest Gump in the movie by the same name back in 1994. Then he grew up, joined the army and went overseas. Now that he's due to get out of the Army June 4, Michael has heard the call of Hollywood once again and has already landed another movie role playing a soldier in a movie called "Pathfinders."
Maybe Tom Hanks will take soldier boy out for a meal, he probably deserves it. {source}

Penelope Cruz three-way
Penelope Cruz is joined by director Pedro Almodovar and actress Blanca Portillo at a photocall in Madrid Friday for their new movie “Broken Embraces.”
"Broken Embraces" is still currently filming and should be released in 2009. The movie will feature Penelope, 34, as a blond playing a would-be actress from Spain’s provinces who is pursued by an unscrupulous financier. An actress playing an actress, a bit of a stretch but I'm sure Cruz can handle it.

Hey, it's that kid
I'm pretty easy to please for the most part and one of the odd little things that pleases me is to see is an actor or actress who I used to like but forgot that I liked and then suddenly they're back in my radar and then I'm like wow, I forgot all about them, I'm glad they're back. Does that make sense? It's not necessarily a comeback because more than likely they've been working all along, I've just been oblivious.
(he even plays Cobra Commander in the new G.I. Joe flick, pretty cool shiz), just back in my line of site.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt (alien boy) and Zooey Deschanel (the friend from Failure to Launch) are set to star in "500 Days of Summer" an anti-romantic comedy (sounds good already). Deschanel plays a girl who doesn't believe in love and Levitt plays the guy who of course falls madly in love with her. Story here.
Good to see this guy again even if he never in fact went anywhere.

Jonas Brothers, large and in charge
Seriously, do we really, really want to see the Jonas Brothers in all their 3-D glory? Apparently Disney thinks so since they are greenlighting a new 3-D movie. Hannah Montana be damned, there's new teens on the movie block. Maybe boys will be easier to keep dressed and photo controversy free, we can only hope. ET is reporting:
From BRUCE HENDRICKS, director of 'Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour,' the state of the art 3-D feature film will show clips from live shows and documentary footage of siblings KEVIN, JOE and NICK behind the scenes.
"We can't wait to start working on this film for our fans," the Jonas Brothers said in a statement. "It's going to be awesome and we really want to bring a totally unique and different movie experience to everyone whether they've seen us live or not."

Sequals, sequals everywhere
Tom Cruise has been in talks with Paramount about making another Mission Impossible. So did anyone actually see Mission Impossible 2 or 3? I barely got through the first one so was actually surprised to hear that there were two others, but with over $1.4 billion in world wide box office sales I guess I can see how they would be thinking about making a fourth. No word yet on when the official decision will be made. Story

Iron Man rules the universe
So here are the stats according to studio estimates... more than $100 million dollars over its opening weekend, more than $104 million since debuting Thursday night, and nearly $97 million dollars in 57 countries where it began opening Wednesday. So worldwide total is at $201 million. Whole story
It's official, “Iron Man” rules the world and the box office. I guess the summer blockbuster season has begun.
Holy crap, that's a lot of movie bucks. Hope it's worth the cash being put out to see it. Glad to see Robert Downey Junior doing so damn good.

Doily chic in this spring
So I had in an earlier post said sheek but I think I probably meant chic, neither of which I am personally so please excuse my probable mispelling. Although to my credit sheek does bring up 1,450,000 pages on Google, but since chic brought up 2,430,000 I guess I'll stick with chic from now on.
Anyway, onto doily CHIC as in Gwyneth Paltrow is modeling the newest doily chic outfit. Usually Gwyneth bugs me for some reason. I've never quite been able to put my finger on it, something about she's like one of those girls who I knew back in high school who were pretty but were too busy being smart to care, but thought they were better than you because they were pretty...bitches.
Anyway, GwynPal actually looks pretty hot in this outfit, like she's getting ready to pole dance for her man. I'm trying to find out who makes the dress but haven't been able to find it anywhere, does anyone know?
---------------------------------------------Gwyneth's shoes are Christian Louboutin, they look like Anemone Stiletto Pumps ($925) minus the big bow they normally come with. You can find a huge selection of Christian Louboutin shoes at Neiman Marcus here.

Mama spanks Harold and Kumar's ass
Funny, funny, funny. I watched this movie this weekend and it's a hoot. Apparently many agree with me since Baby Mama was #1 at the box office this weekend, beating out Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay $18.3 million to $14.6 million.
Don't cry for John Cho and Kal Penn too much since their latest pot and munchie film, Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, opened in second place taking in almost as much in three days as their 2004 Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle did during its entire run in theaters. Woohoo, power to the pot heads.

Aston Martins don't float
So this is an old story from Monday I believe, and I'm sure everyone has already heard about the James Bond Aston Martin DBS getting driven off into the Italian Lake, if not go ahead and read here or video here or here for info on the third crash. I just thought I would mention it here because this was a $270,000 car and I really just wanted to say holy moly macaroni...ouch. The car was totalled, not sure what they will do for a replacement.
