OJ up to his old tricks?

Is this for real? Suspcious, suspicious, suspicious. OJ Simpson's girlfriend, Christie Prody, was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center after being hit by a car May 10. She remains in the critical care unit with two broken legs.

According to police sources, at 4:40 a.m on May 10, Prody’s car broke down on Miami’s Don Shula Expressway. She attempted to walk for help and was struck by a car.

This is Prody's second traumatic event within just a couple of months. She had also been hospitalized on Feb. 11 with severe brain injuries after collapsing at a gas station. She was taken to intensive care with doctors worried she would need brain surgery. She recovered from that and returned to normal life with Simpson at his Miami home.

No one has been arrested yet in this most recent accident according to a Florida Highway Patrol spokesman.

Okay, seriously, has anyone like talked to Simpson? Why in the world does anyone date this man??? Isn't there like some kind of do not date list? Paging Don't Date this Guy dot com.

Wino not going to jail

What is this world coming to? Why can't police just lock people up for criminy sake. What is the point of arresting someone and then not pursuing things further? Sheesh.

Amy was arrested last week stemming from the whole I-do-drugs-on-camera thing and then released. Now the police have decided to drop it.

According to Amy's mouthpeice, "police have confirmed that no action will be taken against Amy Winehouse in relation to an investigation into a video handed to them in January."

"Amy is pleased to be able to move on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly awaited festival performances this summer."

Concentrate on music? Is that what she calls it these days? Well good luck with that.

Dennis Farina will shoot you

Dennis Farina, 64, played a cop on TV's Law and Order and was a policeman in real life in Chicago, but screeners at Los Angeles International Airport could care less when he tried to bring a loaded handgun on a plane in his briefcase. Paging sky marshalls.

Farina told airport police and FBI agents that he had forgotten he put the .22-caliber semi-automatic weapon in the case, authorities said. He spent most of the day in a Van Nuys jail and was released on $35,000 bail. I tell you it's pretty easy to do, I often forget my gun too, it's kind of embarassing when you go to reach for your wallet and pull out a nice pistol instead. Cashiers tend to give you funny looks but they're usually really nice afterwards.

I guess he took the whole I'm not a cop but I play on TV thing a little too far. I guess if nothing else he has a funny story to tell.

Nicky-poo, prison bitch

Thank goodness a sorta-celeb finally gets some jail time, it sort of restores my faith in the law that someone is getting something more than a slap on the wrist.

Nick Bollea (Hogan) is finally having to pay the piper for the horrible car accident that left his friend, John Graziano, in critical condition back in August of 2007.

Bollea was sentenced to eight months in a Florida county jail on Friday after pleading no contest to charges of felony reckless driving. In addition to the jail time, which begins immediately, Nick, 17, was sentenced to 5 years probation, 500 hours of community service, not be allowed to drink any alcohol, and have his driver's license revoked for 3 years.

Bollea said in court, "I would like to apologize to the Gracianos and to my family for the accident. Every single day I think about the accident and about John."

Bollea will not have a felony conviction on his record, not that everyone doesn't know what happened, having no felony on his record doesn't really matter I don't suppose.

Oh crap, she's free

Amy Winehouse was released from jail today after an excruciatingly long 8 hours. Seriously, do jails keep anyone in the pokey for longer than a day anymore? Shouldn't Amy be locked up at least for her own safety?

Amy Winehouse, busted again

Another day, same old crap. Seems Amy can't stay straight and out of trouble for anything, even for the sake of her career.

Winehouse turned herself into a London police station voluntarily today in connection with the January video of her doing cocaine and Ecstasy.

“Around 1 PM today a 24-year-old woman from the Camden area attended a London police station by arrangement and was arrested in connection with the alleged possession of a controlled drug,” a spokesperson for Scotland Yard told Sky News. “She remains in custody. This is in connection with an investigation connected to footage passed to the Metropolitan Police on January 22.”

Following the singer’s arrest, her rep issued a statement indicating Winehouse voluntarily turned herself in.

“Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment. She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is co-operating fully with inquiries,” the rep’s statement read. “The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year.”

How many arrests does a person have to have before they are actually kept in jail for a while? Do they have no three strikes law over the big pond?

This guy's sober AND free?

I haven't had much experience with junkies or rockers, but Pete Doherty doesn't exactly look like someone who is clean and sober, despite his month-long stent in jail for breaching probation. Countdown to relapse 10, 9, 8, 7........

Britney back on the way up the parenting ladder

It's official, after a day of court proceedings and sad faces and appearing near tears, Britney Spears will now have expanded visitation with her kiddos, although the exact change in the amount of visitation is not yet known.

"It is a cautious step, but a step forward nonetheless," said lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan (Kevin Federline's attorney). "We are seeing
signs of (Britney's) progress, and consistency over time is something welcome by Kevin. ... The children are doing great."
It's great to see Britney back on the way to being a mom again. Hopefully she will stay on the straight and narrow. My fingers and toes are crossed.

$5000 a pop not enough, now going for $10 million

Hey, two hooker posts in one day, what are the odds? If only they were about more than just one person...Oh well, can't win 'em all.

So the *ick licker in the Eliot Spitzer whorealicious story who is trying to jump start her "music career," (enter pun here) has decided a good way to raise some quick capital is to sue one of the people who are giving her lots of free publicity, ingrate.

Mistress Dupré filed suit Monday against Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis and his film company – claiming he exploited her name and image for profit (well yeah, duh). The lawsuit seeks more than $10 million in damages.

In legal documents, Dupré alleges that Girls Gone Wild representatives approached her while she was vacationing in Florida in 2003, offered her alcohol and cajoled her into exposing her breasts for their cameras when she was just 17 (and not of proper legal age to sign a release form allowing her to be filmed). The girl's gonna be a stickler for laws now? Read the rest of the story here.

Don't mess with a girl while she's playing pool

LONDON, England --

Amy Winehouse played tough cookie and head butted a good samaritan who attempted to help her get a cab on Wednesday. Payback's a bitch. She also hit another man who had gotten in her way while she attempted to play pool. Maybe she's just competitive.

Amy had turned herself in voluntarily Friday and left a London police station Saturday after being questioned. She received a formal police caution for assault.

The caution means the 24-year-old diva has not been charged, but the incident will remain on the record and could count against her if she is ever charged with a similar offense in the future. Oh I'm sure this is a one time occurence, NOT!!!

Police said the 24-year-old woman had been cautioned for common assault. British police do not identify suspects who have not been charged.

A statement released by Winehouse spokesman Chris Goodman said the singer “admitted to a common assault by slapping a man with an open hand and accepted a caution.” Uh huh, a slap, okay. “Amy was fully cooperative with inquiries and apologized for the incident,” the statement said.

A man was quoted in tabloid newspapers as saying Winehouse hit him when he got in her way while she was playing pool at a bar in the Camden neighborhood of London. He said she also head-butted another man who was trying to hail her a cab in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The Sunday Times newspaper’s annual Rich List this week estimated her wealth at $20 million. Too bad England's not sue happy like America, those two men would be having a good payday soon.

Winehouse’s spokesman said the singer was “looking forward to continuing her work on new music in the studio.” Guess we'll see if bad publicity really is good for a diva's career.

Idealistic tax evader speaks

Celebrities take heed, you're not special, pay your damn taxes. Wesley Snipes has spoken out about his 3-year jail sentence for dodging the tax man.

On Thursday, the actor read aloud from a prepared statement, apologizing for what he called "costly mistakes," (understatement of the day) and insisting he was the victim of crooked advisors, a liability of wealth and celebrity that attracted "Wolves and jackals like flies are attracted to meat." "I am an idealistic, naive, passionate, truth seeking, spritually motivated artist," Snipes said, adding, "and unschooled in the science of law and finance." I don't think it takes much schooling to know the tax man wants his money, but then I'm not an idealistic, naive, motivated artist so maybe I have an advantage.

The star of White Men Can't Jump and the Blade trilogy, was sentenced to three years in prison yesterday for willfully not filing his taxes--the maximum punishment one can receive. The actor's lawyers argued that his sentence was too harsh for a first time offender convicted of three misdemeanors and recommended that he be given home detention instead and ordered to make public service announcements.

But U.S. District Judge, William Terrell Hodges, said Snipes exhibited a "history of contempt over a period of time" for U.S. tax laws.

"The sentencing court sends the right message to the American taxpayer--you've got to pay your taxes," U.S. attorney Robert O'Neill said. "Rich, poor, it doesn't matter. We all pay our taxes." And then we die, aren't we lucky.

Pay up puffer

Shia LaBeouf is a puffer and was popped for it back in February in Burbank for unlawful smoking outside of a gift shop, Witwicky's got a rap sheet. He even had a warrant for his arrest for like a minute due to failing to show up to court. Today the charges were dropped but LaBeouf will still have to pay a $500 fine, take that cancer-stick lover. That's one expensive ciggy.
