"He was really gorked," Captain Finch said of Rosenberg's condition when rescuers found him standing near a rock at the bottom of a ravine - more amused and bewildered than safe and sound. "He wasn't normal. He was like one of those guys who's been drinking a lot and starts saying, 'I love ya, man.'" So what was Rosenberg's problem? Apparently the good boy had decided to go bad for a day and ate some mushrooms of the hallucinogenic kind. Rosenberg's dad is still trying to figure out if there was acid involved. Bet that was one colorful hiking trip. Acid you ask? Yep, Rosenberg's friends ratted him out and said he may have dropped some acid before heading out on his fateful trip. This just keeps getting better. Rosenberg isn't going to be charged with a crime but may have to pay back the $5,000-$10,000 bill. So how will a 17-year-old kid come up with that kind of cash? "If there are any financial repercussions from this, it's going to come out of his hide first," said Mark Rosenberg, Matthew's father. Boy's gonna have a tanned ass I'm thinking. Moral of the story.... Don't do drugs and if you do, don't go hiking afterwards, it could cost ya. Los Gatos, California - High school senior and straight A student, Matthew Rosenberg, went hiking and broke his leg, or at least he thought he broke his leg. Around 8:30 pm he called his mom and told her he fell and broke his leg and wasn't sure where he was. His mom did what any mom would do, she called 9-1-1. Search and rescue began an expensive search of the Santa Cruz Mountains. They brought in police dog, Tomi, who after about 20 minutes found the unharmed man-boy.
